Where is Camp Laurence Located?
Camp Laurence is approximately 1.5 hours south-west of Brisbane on the shores of Lake Moogerah.
What type of programs do we offer?
We offer a range of program options for both Primary and Secondary students designed to meet you desired outcomes. In-centre based programs to overnight and extended expeditions, leadership retreats and corporate functions.
How many students per activity groups?
We operate within the Australian Adventure Activity Standards (AAAS) ratios of participants to instructors for all of our adventure based activities.
15 to 18 participants per activity group with 1 Camp Laurence Instructor and 1 Teacher from your school.
What happens if the weather turns poor?
We will continue with the program, we just might make some changes and offer alternative activities if needed. E.g. postpone High Ropes if it is too windy to continue.
Are special dietary requirements catered for?
Yes, most definitely. Our cooks are fantastic at providing alternative options for all dietary requirements including (but not limited to) coeliac, dairy free, vegetarian, vegan, nut allergies. Medical information is collected prior to arrival, please contact us if you have any queries.
What is your Risk Management Procedures?
We operate within the Australian Adventure Activity Standards (AAAS) ratios of participants to instructors for all of our adventure based activities. Along with this, we follow our own Standard Operating Procedures for each activity. Our staff are appropriately qualified and experienced, holding Working with Children Blue Card Remote Area First Aid, CPR and internal site induction.
A copy of our Risk Management is available for all visiting schools to Camp Laurence.
How long does each activity go for?
Our activity sessions are run over a two-hour period with the option to run a double canoeing session (4 hours)
Does Camp Laurence have disability access?
Yes, we have disability access to Cabin 2 (Sullivan) and a disabled toilet/shower facility. Connecting all of the buildings around Camp Laurence is concrete paths.
